‘We Love, We Laugh, We Learn’

  • Grafham Day Three!

Wed 17 Jan 2018 Mr Watkins, Mrs Mansfield and Miss Brimson

It got off to a great start with an excellent full English breakfast. The weather remained cold but sunny. Undaunted, the children completed their activities with gusto. Mrs Mansfield and her group scaled the indoor climbing wall. Miss Brimson and her group rode the waves on a pair of speedboats. Amazingly, no one fell in. Mr Austin's group successfully navigated

the low ropes. We are all off to have our tea now and then tonight we will undertake a fossil hunt on the beach.

  • Grafham Day Two

Tue 16 Jan 2018 Mr Watkins

It has been another action packed day for our year fives and sixes. The weather has been bright but bitterly cold! Everyone has had to raid the suitcase for extra layers. We've had groups going power boating, orienteering, pioneering, mountain biking and taking part in archery. Miss Brimson's group have been navigating their way across ponds in homemade rafts (with mixed results). Mrs Mansfield's group climbed the high ropes and performed really well on the crate stake.  Mrs Deane's group undertook an exceptionally muddy Grafham challenge! The staff here at Grafham Water have been very impressed with the behavior and attitude of all the students. As I type this, the children are sat playing games and winding down after their dinner. All the adults are hoping for another early night and a long undisturbed sleep...

  • Grafham

Tue 16 Jan 2018 Mr Watkins
What an action packed day! The children undertook the first activity as soon as they arrived. Miss Brimson has already climbed to the top of the high ropes and Group D successfully managed a very arduous cycle in the pouring rain. We've had groups on the canoes, low ropes and lots of individual success on the climbing wall. The evening was slightly more sedate with a moonlight walk, dinner and board games. Let's hope for more fun and enjoyment tomorrow.
  • Great Fire of London

Fri 05 Jan 2018 Mr Watkins
Year 2 welcomed History off the Page to Colville school today. They spent a whole day engaging with fun, interesting and informative activities around life in London circa 1666. They had the opportunity to visit an apothecary, have a go at weaving, work with leather and even make a special type of pot. Their behaviour and enthusiasm, as always, was excellent. Our thanks to History off the Page for providing such an engaging set of activities and delivering the sessions with great skill. Well done Year 2.
  • Christmas Fun

Tue 19 Dec 2017 Mr Watkins
We've been having lots of festive fun. The classes have enjoyed their parties (thank you PSA) and all the enjoyable activities their teachers have planed. I have seen pin the scarf on santa, lots of sleeping lions, pass the parcel and Christmas quizzes! Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
  • House Point Bonanza

Fri 15 Dec 2017 Mr Watkins
Well done to all the pupils who received House Points today. Students with 100% attendance for the half term, as well as those who have handed in each homework set received a House Point. It was really pleasing to see so many pupils taking pride in their achievements.
  • Christmas Baking Challenge

Fri 15 Dec 2017 Mr Watkins
Well done to everyone in Herons class who undertook Miss Brimson's baking challenge. I was lucky enough to be invited to judge the event. Each group's products were tested and scored for both taste and appearance. The quality of the cakes was high and I ended up feeling quite full by the end of the judging process. Well done to all the groups. We hope you enjoyed it. My thanks to Miss Brimson for organising such a fun and engaging activity.
  • Key Stage 2 Christmas Performance

Wed 13 Dec 2017 Mr Watkins
Well done for a fantastic performance! Thank you to all the parents and friends who came to celebrate our Christmas show. We really enjoyed the songs and poems. There was a wide range of different styles and it was great to see the pupils enjoying themselves. Merry Christmas!
  • Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage Christmas show

Tue 12 Dec 2017 Mr Watkins
Well done to all the pupils who took part in either of the Christmas shows this week. They deserve to be congratulated on their excellent singing, clear delivery and wonderful constumes. Many thanks to all the parents and friends who came to watch and recognise the effort the children put in. Merry Christmas.
