It was a very successful visit to the O2 this year. The many sessions spent preparing meant our choir sang and danced their hearts out. It is a huge undertaking and we are very grateful to all the staff who gave up their time either before or on the trip. Hopefully the students enjoyed their time.
Year 2 have enjoyed making their Great Fire of London in a jar artwork.
The year four pupils really enjoyed their Anglo-Saxon day. The whole session was filled with engaging and hands-on activities. Their behaviour was excellent and we hope they came home full of all the exciting activities and tasks they had completed.
Day three almost done! They are just in from our blindfolded muddy assault course. Today was colder than we expected but they coped well. Lots of soup and pasta for lunch and then popular fajitas for dinner. They are having one final hot chocolate and talking about things they have enjoyed. I think we will have lots of tired children tomorrow when we get back to school!
Evening! We’re all inside now having had another successful day. We’ve had groups cycling, climbing and canoeing today as well as some decent archery sessions. This evening they were given the choice between staying inside to relax or coming outside to do a low ropes course and everyone chose the outside option. Hot chocolates to come.
Pioneering, orienteering and bushcraft done! They have been so well behaved and hardworking today. The marshmallows were a particular treat. It was worth trawling all the shops to find suitable marshmallows for everyone because they enjoyed it so much. They’re off showering and tidying (!) now before a hot chocolate and some games. Nobody went hungry at dinner time.
We arrived safely. Thank you so much for getting everyone here despite the traffic around school! Time for a quick briefing and then it’s the first activity. I’ll update again later after we have completed orienteering, pioneering and had our campfire marshmallows.
Well done Colville Rugby Team! After winning our first three matches easily, there were harder tests and bonus points to play for. At the final standing our team of year 5s and 6s finished a very respectable third in the Cambridge Large Schools rugby tournament at Cambridge Rugby Club. Hopefully they will be inspired to continue their rugby development as they move into secondary school!
Well done to everyone who entered our Bake off competition. The four top cakes are shown in the pictures below. There were so many high quality cakes and it was hard, as always, to choose winners. Many thanks to the PSA for organising this and awarding the prizes in assembly this morning.
Many of our pupils enjoy music lessons in classical instruments. We were treated to a performance including some piano, guitar and solo singing! The quality was high and all staff were impressed with the dedication and hard work displayed by all.
