Key Stage Two were treated to an extended assembly about Ancient Greece today. Pupils in Owl and Heron class performed a play about Theseus and the Minotaur, demonstrated making a Greek salad and taught us about differences between Sparta and Athens.
Well done to all the children in year 6 who displayed such excellent behaviour and knowledge during our trip to Duxford War Museum. You were a credit to the school.
32 children took part in the cross country competition at Netherhall today. Despite the bitterly cold wind, our pupils were excellent ambassadors of the school and performed well against tough opposition. The standard was very high and both Mr Hastings and myself were very proud of everyone who took part. Particular mention to Oliver in Year 3, for finishing 3rd and to Izzy, also in year 3, for 15th place.
We have had lots of very high quality entries for our book fair banner competition. You can see a selection of them below. Winners to be announced on Thursday in assembly! Good luck everyone who entered.
Today was our pantomime fun run around the recreation ground. It was fantastic to see so many staff and pupils in costume. The money raised is essential in helping us fund the whole school pantomime opportunity. Thank you to all the parents and careers who came to cheer us on, or who kindly sponsored one of our pupils.
What a wonderful performance! Kingfisher class treated us to the story of Roger of the Rainforest. It had excellent costumes, plenty of laughs and an enjoyable song. Well done to all of you. You should be very proud of yourselves.
It looks like the Elves have been particularly busy at school recently. The pupils have been fascinated by the Christmas display in the shared resource area. In particular, they like the shop front, wrapped presents in the sleigh and the tiny toy train set in the window. Many thanks to all the Elves involved.
Swifts class gave an excellent class assembly this morning. We were treated to gymnastics demonstrations, sport skills, Picasso artwork and an explanation of life in Ancient Egypt. Everyone had remembered their lines and delivered them with confidence. You should all be very proud of yourselves.
Well done to our year two gymnasts who took part in a Cambridgeshire competition today. Our B team came third and our A team won the competition! Mrs Craig was very proud of everyone who took part and we will celebrate it as a school in Golden Assembly on Friday. Each participant receives a house point for representing the school. Well done!
Today we were treated to an excellent assembly from Sparrow class. We heard all about Ancient Egypt. We were lucky enough to see a mummification demonstration, heard them sing an Egyptian themed song and watched a short play about the sun god Ra. Well done Sparrows!
